Visiting the Great- Grandparents

(Contrary to the face, Rayah had a blast- she was showing me how sad she was that we were leaving and didn't understand why we couldn't just stay longer or come back up tomorrow)
At the end of January we had the opportunity to go visit my grandparents who have a ranch up in the foothills of CA. If you asked Rayah she would tell you we are going to the foothills which is the part that tells you that you are almost to the mountains. Anyway, though it rained a good chunk of the weekend we had a great time spending time with Grandma and Papa and I think they enjoyed it too. The girls love going up there which is wonderful for me to see as I have so many fond memories of the Ranch and wanted my girls to have the same. It is nice for them to get a balance on what life is like, not only in the hustle and bustle of suburban/urban life but also the hard work and tranquility of ranch life. Can you believe my grandparents still run this ranch- it shows hard work pays off! Feeding cows, checking orchards, fixing, repairing, watching creation flourish and seeing the result of hard work----they are amazing!!!!!!!!!
Rayah, Ashlyn and Grandma taking the Mule (golf cart on steroids for farm life) down the to hay barn to load it up for the next mornings feedings.
Ashlyn feeding Cheyenne (the horse) and almost becoming the food herself.
The girls LOVE the hay barn and because of the rain it was one area I was happy to let them play:). Rayah is finally starting to trust Jeff that he will catch her when she jumps.
On Saturday we had a beautiful day and got out a bit. The girls enjoyed the swing, picking up acorns, and just running around-----plus all the goodies that Great Grandma gives:)
my cheeseball!
