Jaden Shay Miller
The name we chose for our baby. We were debating naming our Ashlyn, Jadyn, but I thought it was a little too gender neutral for our baby girl and so once again it came to mind when we were thinking of a name for this child. The meaning as well as the name itself was important to us and it gives us a child to remember, not just a horrible event.
Jaden- a variant of the Hebrew name Jadon means "thankful" and/or "God has heard"
Shay- comes from the Hebrew name Isaiah meaning "God is my salvation"
I love the meaning of this name on so many levels, the most dominant being the gratitude we have for the salvation of our child and for ourselves. God has heard our cries and He continues to save us each day by His mercies and grace for though we are His forever we are still in need of His daily grace. He promises us a life of freedom, to live abundantly in His love and not to be held captive by the things or events of life. I was reading Is 61.1-3 the other day and it was such an encouragement to me...especially verse 3
(The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me...)
"to grant to those who mourn in Zion-
to give then a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit,
that they may be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the LORD, that HE may be glorified."
the planting of the LORD, that HE may be glorified."
May He use our little Jaden Shay for His glory!
