In one month my brother, Troy, and his family- Bekah, Dakota, Kate and baby Hope (due Jan) are getting on a plane with a bunch of suitcases and moving to Kenya. Tis so bittersweet! We are thrilled that the Lord has laid on both Bekah and Troy's heart to go and serve Him by serving in Africa (before they were married they both had this on their hearts) but it is hard to say good-bye. Last weekend we had a going away party for them here as they will be in Colorado this next month in training and then we have one week with them here and then it is really goodbye. They will be serving in Nakuru, Kenya with CVM doing animal husbandry projects ( as he is a large animal Dr.) with the community, and teaching and serving at an orphanage/school. Their project name is HOPE (Helping Others Pursue Eternity) as they decided will also be the name of this precious little girl (yes, that is 3 girls- just like us- that makes 6 granddaughters for Oma and Papa:) ) Bekah is carrying --- she will make her debut in January in Nairobi.We praise God for providing for them the means to go and now we know He will hold them tightly in His hands as they move and start life among a "new" family. And of course we will have to go visit sometime...anyone have A LOT of miles they want to donate:)?

This little one- no lie- sat at the table for 45 minutes...eating! I lost count of the watermelon slices. We finally had to peel the shirt off of her and drag her away from the table only I am sure to find someone who wanted to share more food with her....oh, my ellie!

How can you not smile when looking at this? These 2 are peas in a pod and I think one of the things I will miss the most is watching them grow up together.

My sister, Ashley Flurry, told me about this post so I had to come and read it for myself. My husband went on a short term CVM mission trip to Mongolia in November 2005. My husband is also a large animal veterinarian. We will be praying for your brother and his family and will be looking forward to reading articles in the CVM magazine about them.
We can't believe they are leaving!! Even though we knew it was coming it didn't seem like it really ever would. They will be missed.
