Mexico!

We were able to get away on Vacation- what a concept! for a WEEK--woohoo a whole week! The first time in too long but what a wonderful blessing it was and great memories too! Mexico here we come-----swine flu and all!
Auntie Bam, the girls, a Southwest deal and away we go (the rest of the fam due later) to Phoenix with a stop over at some dear friends' house- Thank you Williams Family!!!!!!

and a road trip into MX for a week....

This one is for Uncle Ken as we sped down the bumpy dirt road...the girls thought it was a blast. I think we could have done this all week and they would have been happy.

But instead of bumpy dirt roads we chose to enjoy this piece of creation and it was such a relaxing and fun week not only because of the setting, the home, but the family we were surrounded by- all of the immediate Sammons came together before my brother and sis-in-law and their kiddos head to Africa at the end of the summer. It was a great time to just hang with the fam and spend some time together with out interupptions. And to have a home right on the beach where the girls can nap and we can still all do something:) ahhhh...wonderful! cousinseseses....lots o' love! and all girls so far:)

The Sammons Clan
(Kate and Eliana obviously were having a moment...apparantely in every picture we took...maybe they know something we don't or...)

hi Heather,
I stumbled across your blog (again) form Cami's =). Looking at your MX pics it looks like you went to the eastern side of Baja...maybe San Felipe area?

We went there a few years in the summer and almost died of the heat. But we were considering trying it again for spring break. The only thing holding me back is danger being reported in the border areas of MX. I'm not usually overly cautious, but this warning has me reconsidering for some reason.

Would you mind sharing with me where you went and any pertinent details?

Okay Amy- ummm a little late in posting and I am sure you have gone already but here is the info...
There were warnings when we went too but they were mainly for the more popular border crossings and we went south thru Arizona and drove thru never stopped no issue. We flew to Phoenix and then traveled south and I can't remember the border town we crossed thru but it was out in the middle of the desert. We then drove 1 hour south to Puerto Penasco- Rocky Point which is on the tip of the Sea of Cortez. It was about 85 everyday and really nice. The only thing I missed was foliage as you are out in the desert. Obviously on the way back we were stopped but everyone had all their passports ready and we went right on thru. I am thinking maybe it was Lukeville where we crossed. We did get Mexican insurance a little way before we crossed the border and we bought a ton of stuff at Costco and then brought it down though their stores had enough too. Maybe for next time you go this will help:)
