The Miller 4 with Mickey at Disneyland this past Christmas.
Okay, let me set the scene. Since July, or maybe before hand, we (Jeff's family) have been planning a Disneyland trip for December with the whole family. It was to be Ashlyn's first time and my sis-in-law, Maritza's too. So, tickets purchased, condo figured out, flights scheduled - Sun-Wed we were ready to go. Come Sat night the girls still don't know as we have been keeping it a secret for multiple reasons- 1 just for the surprise and the fun of it and 2 (the main reason) so we didn't have to here about Disneyland and the repetitive questions for 6 months and end up being bitter before we even left:). So I can't wait to tell them, as I know Rayah has been picking up on hints and I keep trying to divert the conversation (so much so that whenever we were with Jeff's family as we're referring to the trip we had a code name- Afghanistan:) gotta love it!
All to say, here comes the day before we leave and guess who comes down with the flu! of all things! Yes, our sweet Ashlyn couldn't keep anything down all day and all night- Rayah, Eliana, and I were quarantined to our upstairs and Jeff and Ash took over downstairs. Well, Sunday morning she looked a bit better and we told the girls through a puzzle and they were both thrilled. So, off Eliana went to my mom's and sis-in-law's and off we went to the Happiest Place on Earth. We actually had a great time, and other than a minor incident on the plane, Ashlyn was back at it that Sun evening. Though I think taking her on Pirates of the Caribbean as her first Disney experience (while still somewhat sick) might not have been the best call- oh well, she survived! And by the end of the trip she was quite sad we had to leave, and it was great for Rayah too because she had forgotten almost everything from her first trip.
