When we were home this summer I answered the phone and had to relay a horrible message to my mom about a dear friend of ours who had barely made it out of surgery and had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Our sweet Jeannie had gone to the doctor with some pain and discovered her body was being overtaken by cancer. Jeannie was welcomed home into the arms of her Father this past Sunday, six weeks after learning she had cancer. I write this not to focus on the disease that took her body but on the hope and the promise that welcomed her soul. She lived her life for the Lord, she radiated His joy and used her gifts and abilities for His Name sake and though many of you never met her she wouldn’t want you to focus on her anyway, but on her Savior Jesus. As her son, Chadd, was telling my mom about Jeannie’s desire to go on a missions trip now that she had retired from teaching (at 58) and he was sad that she never was able to go (with my mom) but found the Lord gave her a different “mission field” and that was the hospital and those that cared for her- she touched each one of their lives with the love of the Lord. So, we mourn, we grieve, we ache because we miss her sweet smile, her joy, her love, her warmth…but we praise God for she is healed and she is truly enjoying “retirement”. So I write a tribute to Jesus Christ for saving the soul of Jeannie Miller and using her life for His glory.I ask that you would continue to lift up her family as they hurt and process all that has happened so quickly and yet continue to rest and hope in the Lord.

Heather, It is very hard to let go of the dear ones that have tugged our hearts so. Cancer took my father in in '92. Same took a dear friend of Lani's in '02. What a huge difference the hope of our Lord makes to all of us. To be ushered into the presence of Jesus and comforted by HIs mercies...my soul just smiles with anticipation. Their absence leaves us missing them, and the grief is real. Your tribute honors her well. And lifts up Jesus too.
Luv yoose guys, Ron White
